Clean as White: Shoes

White sneakers are, for good reason, a classic summer staple. The colorway was rooted in sports at the beginning of the 20th century, and the pragmatic rationale has not changed over the years: white represents the rays of the sun, keeping your feet warmer than darker upper shoes. Another big plus is their versatility — white sneakers go with most casual clothes regardless of color. See below some of my favorite choices.

Vans Authentic Core Classics

For the summer months, classic Vans silhouettes are perfect and will not break the bank. This version of the Authentic sneaker features an upper white canvas with a vulcanized rubber outsole, tonal metal eyelets, and a woven logo tab.

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Mono Leather Hi

As comparison to the standard canvas range, these monochromatic Chuck Taylors have a luxury leather cover. The design still has a rubber toe cap and outsole, but the all-white treatment is extended to every detail on the foot. The only sign of color on the insole of the sneaker is the blue logo.

Nike Air Max 1 W

This version of Nike’s classic Air Max 1 silhouette comes in a Triple White colorway. The white suede upper is contrasted with white mesh underlays and a white Phylon midsole.

Adidas Ultra Boost XIX

Adidas gave its popular Ultra Boost XIX silhouette an all-white colorway. The style includes a Primeknit upper, a Fitcounter heel, boost cushioning and a Continental rubber outsole.

Common Projects Original Achilles Sneakers

Perhaps the most iconic luxury sneaker of the modern era, or any era for that matter, the Common Projects Original Achilles features an understated leather design with a stamped serial number. Made in Italy, the sneaker has a leather lining, a rubber sole and comes with a dust bag and spare laces.
